Why be anxious?

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Matthew 6:28-29

The seemingly insignificant lilies are arrayed in more spender than royalty.  What a great truth.  How much more important are God’s children than the lilies of the field?  

 

Blogger newbie

Well this is my intro into the the world of blogging.  I have been putting it off for awhile, wanting to do it and not wanting to do it.  I decided that I would just jump in and give it a go.  I entitled my blog A Smoking Flax, which comes from Isaiah 42:3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. (KJV)  I think that this scripture is very encouraging and humbling at the same time.  What a great truth to think that the Creator of the universe the orchestrator of life is this tender and gentle with his children.  That is why I decided on this name. 

My goal with this blog is first to glorify God, and after that I am going to just let it take me where it takes me.  I hope that people enjoy reading this blog, and I look forward to this new endeavor I am embarking on.
